Moneybagg Yo Claps Back At Garcelle Beauvais After Comments About Ari’s Gift To Him

Entertainer Moneybagg Yo had some choice words for Garcelle Beauvais. The rapper clapped back after a segment on The Real wherein they questioned whether or not his girlfriend Ari’s gift of almost 30 acres of land was excessive.

Veteran co-host Adrienne Bailon asked her fellow panelists if there should be a limit on gifts made when the couple is not married, as is the case of Moneybagg and Ari.

Beauvais, the newest panelist, said that her stance is that of many a wise woman who has lived and loved.

“Don’t act married if you’re not married. This is acting married,” Beauvais said.

Beauvais added that sometimes, luxurious gifts during the dating phase could cause the party on the receiving end to stay in a relationship that they don’t honestly want to be in due to a sense of indebtedness.

“If a man gave me 28 whatever acres, I would feel obligated to stay with him if it didn’t work,” Beauvais continued.

Of course, that rubbed both Moneybagg and Ari the wrong way, and they addressed the matter the way everyone does these days and took to social media about it.

“Y’all don’t know the half of what he does for me mentally or financially. I’ve never felt so safe, loved, spoiled and happy with a person,” Ari tweeted of her beau. “Focus on getting your own land and your husband,” she continued.

Moneybagg also responded, although in a less generous way.

“Love is Love Mind Ya Business,” he wrote. Moneybagg continued, “Not Fancy hating on my gift.”

Fancy is the character Garcelle Beauvais played on the Jaime Foxx Show.

Ironically, Moneybagg referring to Beauvais’ past career and Ari telling the veteran actress to focus on getting a husband is precisely the point it seems she (Beauvais) was trying to make. Beauvais has been a wife before.

Marriage is a legally recognized contract that comes with certain rights and benefits. It also comes with certain protections in the case of divorce. Being a girlfriend does not. Therefore, Ari spending the money on Moneybagg’s gift could prove a bad investment if the relationship goes south.

Either way, we live, and we learn, hopefully in the least painful way possible.
