She is recognized for her influential music videos, unique choreography, and excellent songwriting skills. Missy Elliott will be honored with the 2,708th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this November 8.
Two years after being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the 50-year-old artist continued to cement her status as a pioneer in female rap and hip-hop in general.
Love & Hip Hop creator Mona Scott-Young is set to present the star to Missy along with artists Lizzo and Ciara. Known for their hit collaborations, Ciara and Missy have often worked together, bringing “1, 2 Step” and “Lose Control” to the masses.

Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez commented about the “Get Ur Freak On” rapper’s wide-ranging impact, saying, “Missy Elliott has broken through the barriers of the male-dominated Hip Hop world, and music industry as a whole, as she has led the way for many women who have followed in her footsteps.”
“She continues to break barriers year after year, and we’re thrilled to be able to honor her on the Walk of Fame.”
Missy will reportedly be joining a list of other music and entertainment stars to be honored by the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year, including Salt-N-Pepa, Kelly Clarkson, the Chi-Lites and Don McLane. Radio host Big Boy and Judge Greg Mathis will also receive a star on the Hollywood Boulevard attraction.

Sharing the news via her Instagram Story Friday night, the rapper-producer wrote to her 4.4 million fans, “I am so humbly grateful,” adding several purple heart emojis.
