The purpose of the name change is to honor her and give the rapper her well-deserved recognition. The street name change also improves the City’s Entertainment District.
In response to her latest achievement, Missy Elliot took to Twitter to express her gratitude.
“I am so Humbly Grateful #757 VA 2 up 2 down,” she wrote. “I been through many ups & downs & times I wanted to give up but God’s plan was different! & all I can do is say thank you & Thank you to everyone on the City [Council]. I am so grateful for everything.”
