Missouri Rapper In Custody For Allegedly Killing His Elderly Grandparents

Davionne McRoberts, a Missouri rapper known as Woozy the Goat, is being held as a suspect on March 23 for allegedly killing his elderly grandparents after exhibiting disturbing mental symptoms to his relatives in the days leading up to it. Davionne, 25, was apprehended in police custody after he walked into a psychiatric hospital covered in blood on Wednesday to commit himself voluntarily.

According

to St. Louis dispatch, Davionne is in police custody for reportedly fatally shooting his grandparents in their 600-block Eames Street home. Donald “Mack” McRoberts and Kathy Chatman McRoberts, aged 71 years old and 58 years old, were found dead after police received a request to make a welfare check from a relative of the grandparents since they hadn’t heard from them in a while. After the discovery of the body, police were quick to identify Davionne as the primary suspect in the murders. A manhunt was quickly issued with police using drones and social media to publicize his face and information to ask people to be on the lookout for him. The search was called off after the hospital called law enforcement to tell them they had Davionne in custody at the psych ward.

Police investigators and family members of Davionne reported to the outlet that Davionne’s mental state seemed to be deteriorating in the weeks leading up to the double homicide. The Missouri rapper took to Facebook a few days before the killings and wrote several incredibly concerning posts. He wrote, “WHO WANNA DIE TODAY? You all don’t believe it? Come and show me. I’m not God.” Another post read, “KNOW I KNOW, MY EARS ARE RINGING, IT’S ALMOST TIME, BUT NOT YET.”

Then just two days before the fatal shootings, Davionne posted, “Hey, I really am God truly, everyone. I’m trying to help you all, but I came to terms. Y’all got too comfy in h***…If GOD WAS CALLING YOU, WOULD YOU PICK UP? F*** NO, YOU ALL IGNORE ME AND I’M TRYING MY HARDEST TO SHOW YOU ALL. PLEASE HELP ME SHOW YOU ALL.” In the rest of the slew of posts that he left on his feed, he continued to claim that he was God, said that he had suffered abuse as a child, and asked for financial donations to “bless” his readers.

“I NEVER READ THE BIBLE IN MY LIFE YALL AND I KNOW THE WHOLE BIBLE YOU KNOW WHY I NEVER BELIEVED IN GOD BECAUSE MY INNOCENCE WAS TAKEN AWAY AS A CHILD BY FAMILY MEMBERS PEOPLE I LOVED DEARLY,”

According to the outlet, Donald McRoberts’ younger sister said Davionne came to her door the week before the shootings acting erratically. She said in the interview, “He knocked at my door and said, ‘It’s God,’ He was talking about how he was God, and we were all going to die. He said, ‘I’m going to rewrite the Bible,’ and that it would all be revealed at the next family reunion.” She continued,  “Once he got done pacing and crying and jumping up and down, he left.” She explained that she warned her immediate relatives about Davionne’s concerning behavior.

“When he left my home, I called my brother. I said, ‘He’s not talking right.’” However, her brother didn’t take her seriously as he said, “As usual, he’s always joking around. ‘He’s going to die before I do.’ He wasn’t worried at all.”

Pamela McRoberts, Donald’s sister, went on to talk about what kind of people Davionne’s grandparents were. She said that Donald served in the army and that “He was very proud of that,” she added that both Kathy and he were “the most beautiful people you’d ever want to meet,”

The Missouri Lincoln County Prosecutor confirmed that formal murder charges would be filed soon against Davionne McRoberts.
