It’s no secret that Beyoncé and her Destiny’s Child sisterhood are a force to be reckoned with. So when someone tries to come for Queen Bey and her protégé, Chloe Bailey, they better be prepared to face the wrath of Michelle Williams.
The 43-year-old singer recently made it clear that she’s not here for any slander about her longtime friend and collaborator.
In a recent episode of her podcast, Checking In with Michelle Williams, Williams joined forces with The Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon from the Reasonably Shady podcast.
The episode, titled “A Reasonably Shady Check-In,” became a platform for Williams to defend Beyoncé against critics who claimed that she failed to promote Bailey’s debut solo album, In Pieces.
“People were mad, or there was rumblings about people mad at Beyoncé for not supporting Chloe’s album,” Williams revealed.
She explained that no matter what Beyoncé did, there would always be people ready to create problems for her.
“Had Beyoncé promoted it, everybody would be like, ‘That’s unfair, you got her promoting.’ And then you feel like she didn’t do enough. She’s on her label, that’s enough promotion. That is enough support,” Williams passionately stated.
However, Williams’s defense didn’t go unchallenged. Robyn Dixon questioned Beyoncé’s alleged lack of support, to which Williams fired back, “Who said she didn’t support her? She’s very involved in helping people creatively.”

Williams acknowledged Bailey’s talent and praised her for her vocal skills and ability to write and produce her own music. She made it clear that while Beyoncé might not promote artists on her Instagram, she still lends her expertise behind the scenes.
The video clip of Williams defending Beyoncé and Bailey quickly went viral, with social media users applauding her classy clapback.
One user wrote, “This is how you’re supposed to defend your friends behind their backs… take notes.”
Another user exclaimed, “Get her again, Mich!”
Another wrote, “Michelle just catered to them and read them. Love her!”
It’s clear that when it comes to those she loves, Williams will always have their back.
