On the most recent episode of her podcast, Megyn Kelly criticized the Black national Anthem and its playing at NFL games and other social justice messages on uniforms.
Kelly, a white woman who was just dragged a little over a month ago, still has not learned her lesson.
In a conversation about the new initiatives that the NFL has enacted to progress the cause of social justice, Kelly let her racism push through.
First, she spoke about how players can now have decals on their helmets with one of six justice messages, including “Black Lives Matter” and “Stop Hate.”
“People are holding their noses and stomaching this,” Kelly said.
That seems to be a comical assertion since the NFL games debuted to all-time high ratings for the 2021-2022 season.
As with all things, Kelly could not avoid playing the race card and pointed out that many of the league’s new practices involve race. One of those new activities is the playing of the Black National Anthem.
“I don’t think that the average American – Black or White – wants to hear the Black national anthem before they hear the national anthem…and it’s no offense against people of color. We’re one country,” Kelly said. “We don’t need separate anthems.”
Clearly, Kelly has not been informed that Black people are not “average Americans.”
Second, if “we’re one country,” why does it matter which anthem is played? It should be noted that both anthems are played at the games.
In 2020, the NFL was 70 percent Black. It makes much more sense to play our anthem than the other anthem that was written before the abolition of slavery.
Kelly believes that the games should be a form of respite for the audience and avoid politics.
Perhaps since Kelly has not had a bona fide journalism job since she was fired in 2018 for questioning Blackface and her portfolio boasts a soliloquy about the whiteness of Santa Claus, she is bored. Who knows?
We wish she would address her own demographic for once when so many of them aren’t bathing in a pandemic.
