Meghan McCain’s ‘The View’ Co-Hosts Were Reportedly ‘At Their Wits’ End’ Prior To Leave

Meghan McCain is arguably the most controversial co-host to sit on The View, an award-winning 23-year talk show. And as fans have often called in the past for the Conservative commentator to be fired, it appears that there was also quite a bit of tension within the ABC daytime show’s cast. According to Page Six, a close source alleged that The View’s female co-hosts were “at their wit’s end” with McCain and often complained to ABC staff about her before her recent exit announcement.

Last week, Sister 2 Sister reported that McCain was finally leaving The View after four years. She was often taken to task by show veterans Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar for her controversial and contentious comments.

Page Six’s source claimed, “Everyone was at their wits’ end — even Whoopi, and she’s the most chill of them all. Whoopi is never going to advocate for anyone to get fired. She’s not about that, but she was very clear that she no longer wanted to work with Meghan,”

A source also stated to Page Six that several women of The View complained when recently-hired ABC News President Kim Godwin took on her role. and said they no longer wanted to work with McCain. “It happened as soon as Kim came in. It was right after Joy and Meghan’s huge blow-up where the network called an emergency meeting,” they said. “They told new management, ‘We don’t want to work with her anymore.’”

According to Page Six, the source is referring to a May incident on the talk show, likely related to when Behar and McCain got into a heated discussion about the Republican Party and U. S. Representative Matt Gaetz, who was

under investigation for sex trafficking.

During their back-and-forth, Behar fired off at her co-host, “If it’s not the Republican Party, shall I call it the QAnon party? What shall I call your party now? Who defends people like Matt Gaetz and goes against Liz Cheney? What are we supposed to call it?”

With McCain leaving the show, perhaps things won’t be as tumultuous.
