Meghan McCain can’t seem to keep her foot out of her mouth, and this time proves no different. Known for her conservative views and off-the-wall commentary, the 36-year-old co-host of The View discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’ actions related to the U.S.-Mexico border when she boldly claimed that she “sounded like a moron” during the VP’s recent interview with Lester Holt. McCain has since found herself in hot water, with backlash from fans calling for a public apology.

Last week, Harris sat down with NBC New’s Holt in Guatemala to discuss

why she has yet to visit the border, which is still experiencing a crisis. According to the Washington Post, the southern border saw a significant increase in immigrant apprehensions and border crossings in the past several months, making it a highly debated political topic.

“Well, we are going to the border. We have to deal with what’s happening at the border. There’s no question about that,” Harris said about visiting the border in the interview. “That’s not a debatable point. But we have to understand that there’s a reason people are arriving at our border and ask what is that reason and then identify the problem so we can fix it.”

Clearly, this wasn’t good enough for McCain, who decided to try to come for the VP over her comments on last Friday’s episode of The View.

“She’s also taking heat for not visiting our own border yet, saying she’ll go at some point. Even some fellow Democrats think that she’s handling the crisis wrong,” she

barked on the talk show, continuing “I think she sounded like a moron when she was talking to Lester Holt, and her nervous laugh is making me nervous that she doesn’t know what she’s doing.”

Though this isn’t the first time that McCain has ruffled some feathers with her commentary, dozens of online users took to their social media to drag her for complete filth, with many calling for her to be fired from The View.

“You should suspend or fire @MeghanMcCain for calling VP Harris a moron. At the very least, she should be forced to issue a public apology,” one Twitter user wrote.

One user added, “There are so many reasons to fire Meghan from The View, but calling our VP a moron cannot be ignored. She is a name-calling, disrespectful host. It’s more than time for her to leave this show.”

Calling her out on her bigotry, another person tweeted about Black women being scrutinized and held to different standards, stating, “@MeghanMcCain owes @vp an apology for her “moron” statement and her comment about how the VP laughs. AA women are frequently held at a different standard for everything, even how we laugh. It’s called misogynoir, and it’s unacceptable! Period! #theView”
