The Houston hottie Megan Thee Stallion has made history as the first Black woman to cover Forbes’ latest “30 Under 30” issue.
According to the prominent magazine, Megan raked in an estimated $13 million in 2022 via record royalties, ticket sales, merchandise, and endorsements.
“I can’t slow down right now,” she told Forbes about the being the first Black woman to grace its “30 Under 30” cover. The Texas native added that she’ll take a break when she’s “dead.”
“I’ll take a break when I’m dead. I’m trying to really build something,” Megan noted. “When I start sitting, I feel like I’m not doing enough or I’m giving somebody else the opportunity to pass me.”
She continued saying, “it’s really hard to be the first something in 2022.”
“It’s really hard to be the first something in 2022. I want to be bigger than just my music. I want people to know Megan as everything that she ever wanted to be. Megan, the artist. I feel [like] I’ve always liked to dabble and dab in a lot of different things, and I feel like I got that from my mom and my dad. My dad was a street guy; he was an entrepreneur, [and] he had his own clothing line. My mother, I watched her go to work nine-to-five every day and come home and write songs. And take me to the studio, and be a mom, and be just a good woman in general.”
The 27-year-old initially earned a spot in the Forbes’ “30 Under 30” 2019 issue, but her latest endorsements landed her yet another one. She previously scored a $2 million Super Bowl Cheetos ad in 2022, a memorable Popeyes collaboration and deals with Nike, Revlon, and Cash App, among others. She also landed deals with Netflix and Time Inc., which is “paying her $3 million to produce a documentary on her life.”
Despite her successful business endeavors as a Black female rapper, she shared that she still keeps things simple regarding her finances.
“My jewelry is expensive, and my house was expensive, but like, outside of that, I’m not buying 100 cars,” she said. “As soon as I started getting money, I spent it on school. Then when I got done paying for school, then that’s when I started buying chains and stuff like that. But you should learn about how to make your money work for you; I feel like that was important for me to share.”
Megan recently appeared on SNL as a host and musical guest on November 28.
