Megan Thee Stallion Collaborates with Popeyes for Hottie Sauce and Future Franchises

Megan Thee Stallion teamed up with Popeyes to release an exclusive “Hottie Sauce” and open a few restaurants.

The sauce will be available in restaurants in the United States and 14 other countries on October 19. It is made of honey, cider vinegar, and Aleppo pepper. A Popeyes press release stated the sauce has “a sweet, yet bold flavor with a hint of spice, inspired by Megan’s sassy personality.”

Hottie Sauce will be available as an add-on for the chicken sandwich. The addition of the Hottie Sauce will be the first time Popeyes has changed the infamous menu item. It will also be available as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets.

Celebrity fast food endorsements have been a thing lately. Lil Nas X joined forces with Taco Bell in August for a brand deal. McDonalds has done campaigns with several artists, including Travis Scott, Saweetie and K-pop band BTS, per Eater. Burger King followed suit with commercials featuring Nelly, Anitta and Lil Huddy,

Megan Thee Stallion’s deal didn’t stop with Hottie Sauce and some commercials. She signed on as a franchisee and planned to open a few Popeyes restaurants.

“I’m appreciative of Popeye’s commitment to empowering Black women and look forward to opening Popeyes Restaurants,” Stallion said in a statement. “Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur. I’ve always been a fan of the Popeyes brand, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the brand and help create the new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce for their line-up.”

A Hottie Sauce merch line will also drop on Tuesday. It will feature shirts, hats, tumbler cups, bikinis and dog toys.

“Popeyes one-of-a-kind partnership with Megan Thee Stallion goes well beyond the average marketing collaboration. We are unifying two pop culture icons, and Megan’s innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial vision is at the core of everything we’re doing,” said Sami Siddiqui, President of Popeyes Americas.
