Meet Victory Brinker: The World’s Youngest Opera Singer

A 10-year-old Black girl has been confirmed to be the world’s youngest opera singer. Her name is Victory Brinker.

According to the Guinness World Record, Brinker achieved her record in December 2019, when the young vocalist participated in eight performances during the Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s Lights and Legends show.

On March 28, Guinness World Records confirmed her record at seven years and 314 days old.

But this is not the only achievement for the young rising star.

In July 2021, Brinker became the first America’s Got Talent contestant to receive a unanimous Golden Buzzer from all four judges during her performance of “Juliet’s Waltz.”

Although Brinker did not win the show, she continued with her solo career afterward by releasing a four-song Christmas EP including renditions of classics including “Silent Night” and “Ave Maria.”

She even performed at local Christmas concerts and sang “Silent Night” on a  segment of Dr. Phil on December 15. She has also appeared on numerous other shows, including NBC’s Little Big Shots and Wonderama. She also frequently sings the national anthem for NBA, NFL, and MLB games.

In December, Brinker was contacted by the Italian television show Lo Show Dei Record. The series highlights people who are seeking official titles from Guinness World Records.

Her mother and sister traveled with Brinker to Italy to film for the show on February 14. The show later aired on March 27.

“It’s a big process to get vetted for (a Guinness record). The process started in December.” her mother said.

As a baby, Brinker was adopted by her parents– Christine and Eric. She lives in Pennsylvania with ten other siblings.

According to Guinness World Records, her mother knew she was gifted at six.

“When we believe in our children, they believe in themselves and can change the world,” she said.

Victory wishes to inspire more kids to follow their dreams.

“You can do it! Just do it one time, and you’ll see it’s not so bad,” she said.

Congratulations!
