Meet the Husband and Wife Who Own Their Own Dental Practice in Missouri

Dr. Keith Robinson and Dr. Ashley Robinson, a Black power couple who are both dentists and entrepreneurs, have always wanted to make people smile. In 2015, this husband and wife team opened The Smile Company, their own dental practice in Maryland Heights, Missouri and based on the positive feedback they receive from their clients, they are definitely making them smile!

Their love story

The Robinsons, who both studied dentistry at the Southern Illinois University’s School of Dental Medicine, first met at freshman orientation. But they only started taking their relationship to the next level when Ashley was about to graduate.

“It wasn’t until my senior year and his junior year that we actually started hanging out regularly, as friends,” Ashley told I Am Beautiful 365. “I think he saw that I was pretty stressed out trying to graduate and he invited me out to go bowling. We had our first date on Valentine’s Day 2010 and we have been together ever since.”

Their business story

After graduating, Dr. Ashley worked in the public health field where she helped patients in under-served communities. Dr. Keith, on the other hand, continued his education and completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry program and a Fellowship in Implant Dentistry both also at Southern Illinois University’s School of Dental Medicine.

While they were both enjoying their career, they were also building a family with two kids. They began to realize that there is more freedom in entrepreneurship and ownership without the pressure that is usually present in the workplace. That’s when they decided to open their own dental practice.

The Smile Company offers a wide variety of dental services in a more caring, family-centered, and comfortable way. They strive to provide excellent dental care such as general and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, implant dentistry, oral surgery, gum infection therapy, Invisalign, pediatric dentistry, and more. They also have dental plans that can be of benefit even to those without insurance.

Surely, there’s always a reason to smile at The Smile Company!
