Meek Mill demanded Tory Lanez’s release from prison during a performance at Rolling Loud Portugal against the wishes of Black women.

In a video, Meek Mill was rapping the DC4 hit “Litty,” which features the now-jailed Canadian rapper.

“That was f–ing lit,” he told the audience after performing the song. “Free Tory Lanez, too, one time.”

As Sister2Sister previously reported, a Los Angeles jury found Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, guilty of all charges regarding his involvement with rap star Megan Thee Stallion.

The Canadian rapper was charged with assault with a semi-automatic weapon, having an unregistered gun in his car, and gross negligence by discharging a firearm.

Lanez could face a max of almost 23 years in prison for the crimes, and he faces deportation back to his native Canada.

As of now, Tory Lanez is awaiting punishment after being convicted and will be sentenced on August 7.

Prosecutors in the case request a 13-year prison term.

According to Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez fired at her and damaged her foot while leaving an SUV with her back turned.

Users who advocated for the protection of Black women reacted negatively to Meek Mill’s solidarity with Tory Lanez.

Meek Mill, who parted ways with Roc Nation Management on July 2022 after a close relationship with Jay-Z since 2019, and Megan Thee Stallion, an artist who signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, also in 2019, would have been label mates during the time of the incident.

Meek Mill’s working relationship with Tory Lanez, in which they would release a collaborative album, supersedes any support for the Houston female rapper.

Meek Mill has also recently got flak from Black women for supporting YK Osiris, who forced a kiss on Sukihana in a video after she teased him.

The Philadelphia rapper is frequently the topic of social media jokes, frequently finding himself in awkward situations such as having to explain why he uploaded a selfie of himself on the bottom of a toilet because he was hungover following a night of heavy drinking at Michael Rubin’s all-white party in the Hamptons.

In a deleted response, he said the following before deactivating his Twitter account, “We have so much influence they trying to use Small internet campaigns to sway the peoples perception of artists,” he wrote. “We are basically our own media bases now and we can say what we want at will in front of millions and they don’t feel that. … Anything I post they try to amplify it and make me look stupid. I wasn’t created on the internet and I know they got some of y’all in a trans threw social perception. That’s why content creators win because lead the narrative.”
