May 2 Is Officially Megan Thee Stallion Day In Houston!

H-town hot girl, Texas Southern University Grad, and Grammy Award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion received the key to her city on Sunday (May 1) and another special recognition.

At a ceremony on Sunday, Houston’s mayor, Sylvester Turner, and members of the Houston City Council celebrated Meg, whose real name is Megan Pete, for her philanthropic endeavors.

She was awarded the key to the city, and a special cowboy hat and Turner proclaimed that May 2 is officially Megan Thee Stallion Day in Houston.

May 2 is also Meg’s mother’s and grandmother’s birthday.

“Megan Thee Stallion has an extraordinary entertainment career, but we wanted to honor her for what she does offstage to lift people’s lives in underserved communities,” Turner said, according to ABC 13. “She assisted people after the 2021 winter storm, during the pandemic, and helped those struggling with homelessness. I look forward to watching her grow as an artist and humanitarian.”
