Matrix Star, Laurence Fishburne, Revealed That He’s Finally Open to Dating Again at 60

Veteran acting legend Laurence Fishburne recently publicized that he’s open to getting back into the dating game after his divorce from his 16-year marriage to fellow actress Gina Torres.

Earlier this month, at the Tribeca Film Festival, following the release of the most recent endeavor of his documentary, The Cave of Adullam, Fishburne surprisingly opened up about his love life after years of remaining single after his divorce.

He

told PageSix reporters, “Eventually, I would like to date, but there is nobody in particular on my radar.”

In May 2018, Fishburne filed for divorce from Suits star Gina Torres. Although it was a surprise to fans of both actors, Fishburne and Torres were open to the public about it after Torres was seen kissing another man. All parties involved seemed to be on the same page besides the fans on the outside looking in.

A source from PageSix reported, “Kevin [the mystery man Torres kissed] wouldn’t date someone who was in a happy marriage. His understanding was that they [Torres and Fishburne] were separated and co-parenting.”

The Black-ish actor cited unspecified irreconcilable differences between the couple that led to the split – settling for joint custody of their young daughter, Delilah, whom he shares with Torres.

Torres herself released a statement according to PageSix explaining: “With heavy hearts, Laurence and I quietly separated and began the dissolution of our marriage in the early fall of last year.”

She continued to assure fans, “There are no bad guys here. Only a love story with a different ending than either one of us had expected […] Happily, our family remains intact, and we will continue to raise our daughter with love and joy and awe. As well as raise each other up with respect and love and the continued understanding that we’re in this together, if not side by side.”

Despite the split seeming amicable and mutual, the couple even starring as an onscreen couple in the NBC series Hannibal – the only ‘date’ that Fishburne brings to red carpet appearances is his 15-year-old daughter.
