Master P was one of several African Americans given an honorary doctorate from Lincoln University at this commencement.
In honoring the emcee, the university recognized him as a mogul, actor, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
According to The Grio, along with those who also received honorary Doctor of Humane Letters was Gloria Carter, rapper Jay-Z’s mother, the co-founder and chief executive officer of The Shawn Carter Foundation.
The university wrote that the SCF helps young individuals facing socio-economic obstacles and helps them further their education at institutions of higher learning.
SCF Scholars represent diverse backgrounds and typically face significant barriers to success, such as teen pregnancy, homelessness, former incarceration, interrupted schooling, and sexual and domestic abuse.
Master P’s son, Romeo Miller, also took to Instagram and shared his pride in his father’s latest achievement.
The proud son captioned his photo, “My dad @masterp is Superman! Congrats on your Doctoral degree, and congrats to all the other graduates from @lincolnuniversityofpa. Thanks for showing us that anything is possible, pops. I mean Dr. P! #GodisGood.”
