The new Mambacita apparel line honoring Kobe Bryant’s late daughter Gianna went on sale this past Saturday (May 1). This would have been the teen basketball star’s 15th birthday. The clothing sold out by early afternoon, according to a representative of Kobe Bryant’s estate team.
Kobe Bryant’s estate team recently ended its two-decade apparel deal with Nike. Less than two weeks later, Vanessa Bryant, his widow, gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek of the new tie-dye Mambacita-brand sweatshirts and sweat pants.
Vanessa Bryant wrote, “In honor of my Gigi’s 15th Birthday,” in the photo caption on her Instagram page. The post featured a series of photos of her and her other daughters modeling Mambacita purple, black and white sweats, which come in adult and children’s sizes.

Bryant partnered with Dannijo, a clothing line run by two sisters, to create a limited-edition tie-dye sweat set capsule collection. The collection featured a two-piece adult sweat set priced at $332 while the children’s set was $224. Adult hoodies cost $224, and the children’s hoodie is $124. Face masks were also sold for $24.
The company wrote, “Her passion, warmth and kindness continue to remain in our hearts and minds and continue to guide Lil MAMBACITAS and Lady Mambas throughout the world,” about Gianna on Instagram.

Kobe and Gianna Bryant died in a Los Angeles helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. The pilot and six other passengers were also killed.
Mambacita was Gianna’s basketball nickname, a nod to her legendary father, whom Lakers fans called the “Black Mamba.”
Vanessa Bryant said all of the proceeds from the sales of Mambacita athletic gear will go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, a non-profit charity set up to honor Kobe and Gianna Bryant.
“Thank you to everyone who made this fundraiser possible, inspired by the loving memory of Gianna Maria- Onor’e Bryant,” she shared in her Instagram caption. “Please know our family deeply appreciates the way the world continues to celebrate our sweet girl, and we look forward to paying it forward to future Lil MAMBACITAS and Lady Mambas through the work of our Foundation.”
