Madame VP Reveals She Doesn’t Use Flat Irons For Her Silk Press, ‘It’s Too Much Heat’

Triple threat Keke Palmer got Madame Vice President Kamala Harris to reveal her secret to her flawless silk press on her show, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer — hint, not a flat iron.

“I don’t use a curling iron,” Harris shared, causing Palmer’s jaw to drop to the floor. “It’s too much heat. I use a round brush.”

“Now, what kind of magical round brush? I mean, your hair must be super fine…”

Harris denied she had fine hair — strands are smaller in diameter than coarse hair (thick hair).

“No, it’s not. It takes a while. A boar bristle…but it takes a lot of heat. But it’s just too much heat to do that.”

The silk press discussion happened at the end of the interview, during her game, “Questions That Need To Be Answered,” where the Akeelah and the Bee actress inquire questions from viewers.

Palmer asked how often she hailed food from delivery services like Uber and Doordash. Unfortunately, government officials aren’t allowed to order from food delivery services for safety reasons.

“But I do like to cook,” Harris added. “I don’t cook that often ’cause I don’t have time, but I love to cook. But Sunday family dinner, in particular, it takes a lot for me to not be able to cook Sunday dinner. That means a lot to me.”

Harris also admitted she doesn’t listen to music while working out.

“I’m watching the news. I work out early in the morning, and that’s the time I can catch up on the news before I just hit the streets,” she said.

Palmer asked about her favorite E-40 song since they’re both from the Bay area. But the VP surprised the host with, “I would prefer to talk about Too Short,” another California-born rapper.

“I love E-40. I love everything about E-40. My cousin’s son is going to start going to Howard,” she said. “I take full credit for bringing my bootleg tapes of Too Short to Howard University so that all my friends from like Chicago and Philly, I turn them on to Too Short.”
