M.A.C. Cosmetics Announces Makeup Collab With Whitney Houston’s Estate

M.A.C. Cosmetics and Whitney Houston’s estate have partnered to create a collection dedicated to the deceased singer. The collection will coincide with her highly-anticipated biopic.

According to Houston’s Instagram account (ran by her estate), the subsidiary of Estee Lauder will launch the products in 2022.

@maccosmetics has inked a long-term, multi-faceted partnership with the Whitney Houston Estate. The beauty brand is set to launch a collection in 2022 as part of the collaboration, and will support the upcoming biopic by recreating some of Whitney’s most memorable beauty looks for the film.”

The deal will honor Houston’s legacy and is described as a ”long-term, multi-faceted partnership.”

The popular cosmetic brand will also involve the six-time Grammy winner’s estate in other projects that will be announced later.

Whitney’s sister-in-law and former manager, Pat Houston, told People Magazine, “The idea that is coming to fruition now is something Whitney always wanted to do. I’m pleased we can do something that I know she would have loved. We are just starting on this collaboration but exciting things are coming!”

“Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear, our work with M.A.C. is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to her colors that she loved to work with,” she continued. Pat also spoke about Houston’s showstopping looks saying, “she loved working with colors on the lips and eyes, that iconic red lip was always a favorite of hers.”

The former model turned award-winning songstress’s estate is working closely with the conglomerate to make sure it embodies everything Houston was.

“We’ve spent a lot of time with the team at M.A.C. looking at Whitney photos and videos and helping them understand the true essence of her, I think you will see all of her looks ring true to how you saw Whitney in life.”

Houston’s biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody is in production and is produced by Pat, Clive Davis, Larry Mestel,Denis O’Sullivan and Anthony McCarten.

The no-holds-barred biopic is said to be “very frank about the price that super-stardom exacted” while also being “the moving tale of a simple Jersey girl trying to find her way back home.”

Houston accidentally drowned in February 2012.
