‘Love & Hip Hop’s’ Safaree Samuels Wants His Family Back, Erica Mena Says, ‘Maybe Let’s Just Take The Relationship Off The Table’

Safaree isn't ready to let his family go.

On the latest episode of VH1’s Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition, resident rude boy Safaree Samuels expressed his desire to reconcile with his estranged wife, Erica Mena. He also confessed that he was afraid to lose her for good.

In the scene, the Jamaican rapper poured his heart out to Mena, saying, “My energy was so f****d up.”

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” he added.

Mena responded, “I just need time apart, so I figure things out for ourselves individually.”

She elaborated that they needed to be present for their two children, and a balanced co-parenting relationship should be primary.

“Maybe let’s just take the relationship off the table and just focus on parenting, like being parents. How we’re gonna do this, you know what I’m saying?”

Samuels responded, “Yeah, but I feel like I don’t want to lose you.”

“You do, you have me, you just cut me out all the time. You cut me out all the time,” the 34-year-old reality star said.

The cryfest prompted the couple to comfort each other.

“I love you,” the father of two later declared before tearfully saying. “Sorry for anything I have done to hurt you.”

Twitter reactions regarding the interaction were mixed. Some people supported Samuels’ emotional display and his plea to reunite his family, but others– not so much.

Others wanted to see Mena and Samuels win.

The couple was married in October 2019. Their tumultuous union was tainted with rumors of Samuels’ extramarital affairs and the 40-year-old neglecting his family.

We hope they can get to the point where they are mentally healthy and happy.
