Love & Hip Hop franchise stars Erica Mena and Safaree announced Monday that they are expecting their second child together. The pair have made a stir on social media in recent months due to their publicly tumultuous relationship. But now, it looks like they’re both focusing on their relationship and growing family.
Posing for her maternity photos in a bank vault, Mena donned a sheer black robe with matching strappy heels as she embraced her husband, Safaree.
“More Life. Who wants that perfect love story anyway,” Mena captioned the pregnancy announcement photo, referring to Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s “Part II (On The Run) as well as her rocky relationship.

The married couple shares a 1-year-old daughter, Safire, who they welcomed in February 2020. Their expecting baby will be their second child together. Safaree also posted the announcement picture to his Instagram page, captioning it, “Safire got a new sibling. New baby who dis?? #2under2 time to get neutered [laughing emojis]. Now I need a chef and a nanny.”
But Mena and Safaree weren’t always at a happy point in their relationship. A few months prior, Safaree aired their marriage troubles in a series of now-deleted Tweets. According to The Shade Room, the rapper and reality star wrote, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart, getting married was one of my BIGGEST mistakes, and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I end up in jail over some dumb s**t.”

Known for her fiery attitude and clap backs on Love & Hip Hop: New York, Mena responded, “Since you always run to social media like a little girl, I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain, and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter!”
After receiving online backlash from fans about their public back-and-forth and subsequent pregnant announcement, Mena directly addressed her “nasty” haters. “Now granted, there’ve been mistakes made, immaturely,” she said on social media.
“But a marriage is a marriage, and unfortunately, there’ve been mishaps…When you’re in the public eye, I think me and my husband have both realized that things should be kept in.”

Seemingly unbothered, Mena posted another maternity photo yesterday, dressed in a floor-length floral gown and purple pumps. The 33-year-old mother captioned the photo, “Please don’t mind me. I’ve been really just living in my moments.”
We wish the best for Mena and Safaree’s relationship and pregnancy.
