Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Star Safaree is in the news for partying in Jamaica as his newborn son and soon-to-be-ex-wife Erica Mena spent several days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The former couple had a son on June 28. The couple also has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

As reported by Sister 2 Sister Magazine on July 7, Mena accused Safaree of neglecting his infant as well as having an affair with Kaylin Garcia. On July 8, Mena posted a video of herself holding her new son in the hospital’s NICU. Mena wrote that she had been in the NICU with her newborn for 10 days.

“New NICU Mommy. Day 10 Legend Brian Samuels & Mommy staying STRONG 🧿✨So far five out of the ten days I felt lost,” she wrote.”I’m feeling guilty, confused and scared. I’ve been getting phone calls and receiving messages. I’m asked a million times how I’m doing and if I’m ok. But how can you be doing? Can you really be ok right now? BUT I Remind myself , they love me and they are reaching out BECAUSE they love me….

The duo is going through a messy divorce less than two years after getting married, and the end of their relationship is currently airing on VH1’s reality show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.

Safaree tweeted on Feb 23 that getting married was one of his biggest mistakes. Mena filed for divorce on May 21 in Georgia.

“I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again,” he wrote. “I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb s***. Nobody is worth. my freedom!!!”

The former couple’s son was born on June 28. The Shade Room posted video of the rapper partying in Jamaica on July 8. Safaree was celebrating his birthday, which was on July 4. Safaree was also posting on Instagram during his Jamaican vacation.

Instagram users were surprised that Safaree was posting pictures from Jamaica knowing his newborn son was in the hospital. Several left comments under the post telling him to go home. Other were disgruntled.

“You dead a cornball 💯,” wrote one user. ” I was rooting for you and hoping you wasn’t this slime ‼️.”

“Guys he knows his baby is in the NICU, he really just don’t give a damn 🤷🏽‍♀️,” said another.

“Ugh I gotta unfollow you,” said one.

“Loss all respect for you, you should be home with your children,” wrote one.

Despite the backlash on social media and repeated comments telling him to go home to his child, Safaree continued to post pictures of his trip to Jamaica.
