Love and Hip Hop Miami star Shelah Marie addressed commenters on social media who criticized her “black women only” rule regarding the reality star’s annual “Unruly Retreat” that caters solely to black women.
Marie’s castmate, Neri Santiago, who is married to Drinks Champ host Noreaga, was offended by the star’s comments and believed she should expand her rules to allow women of all races to attend. Princess Love, who recently joined Love and Hip Hop Miami, defended Santiago by stating that the reality star also has black children.

Although Marie is facing backlash from viewers of the show, she doubled down on her retreat rules and shared a video of her blocking Instagram users.
“Hey, Baes! We’ve had an eventful past few weeks, so before I shift the energy back to that which I desire on my page, I would like you all to take a deep breath in and release all the negativity with a little laugh.”
One Instagram user commented on the post by questioning Marie’s blackness and the fact that she’s allegedly excluding women who don’t “appear” to be black.
“I’m really disappointed in you and the episode that I saw on love & hip hop where you stereotype [us] black, African American women, and you literally sat there and contradicted yourself. You made Princess and that beautiful Latina woman feel out of place, as if they didn’t fit in and weren’t welcomed. They have every right to be there as much as you do because you’re not 100 percent African American yourself.”

Marie continued with the responses and reminded commenters that she no longer wanted to talk about the situation.
“We are moving forward and no longer having conversations with people committed to misunderstanding us,” said Marie under the Instagram post.
