Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Mimi Faust and her longtime girlfriend, former WNBA player, Ty Young, announced they are engaged again.
Ty shared the exciting news with attendees at Mimi’s 50th birthday party. In a video circulating on social media, she gave a very brief statement about their engagement.
“You know I love you,” Ty said. “I love Eva. We’re a family. We talk, we communicated. We’re back, 2022, and she’s my fiancé.”
Mimi then kissed her fiancé and flashed her fancy rock at the camera.

This is the second time the couple has been engaged. In August 2020, Ty and Mimi announced they were heading to the altar but the two ended up calling it off the following year.
Mimi discussed her breakup with Tami Roman on an episode of the podcast, Get Into It With Tami Roman on Fox Soul.
“I think the turning point for me was the engagement. That’s not what I wanted,” she said. “I had expressed this to Ty, but Ty’s a natural-born athlete, she’s a natural-born winner, she’s just used to getting what she wants. And so, that is what she pressed forward with what she wanted.”
She continued, “I didn’t wanna be married. With me saying that opened up a whole humungous can of worms not only for our relationship but for myself.”
A few months later, the couple was spotted together again.
Mimi and Ty started dating in 2016 and even though their relationship was very public, Mimi wanted to keep it out of reality tv. She reportedly told VH1 that she didn’t want to bring her love life with Ty to Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta for fear of it getting “messed up.” However, her 35-year-old retired basketball player beau ended up appearing on the show a few times anyway.
Mimi posted an image of herself, Ty, and her engagement ring on her Instagram page with the simple caption, “All this Love is in the room!!!”
