L’Oréal Unveils Device That Aims To Help People With Limited Mobility Apply Makeup Easier

Legendary beauty giant L’Oreal recently unveiled a device to help people with limited mobility apply

their makeup more easily.

According to a press release, L’Oreal unveiled brow magic: the first at-home electronic eyebrow makeup applicator that provides users with customized brow looks in seconds. Brow Magic reportedly gives users bespoke eyebrows for their face shape in seconds.

The big reveal went down at the CES 2023 tech event in New York City on Jan. 3. The beauty brand also unveiled the first handheld, ultra-precise digital makeup applicator, HAPTA. HAPTA was reportedly designed to advance the beauty needs of people with limited arm and hand mobility.

“For L’Oréal, the future of beauty is inclusive. And this future will be made more accessible by technology,” said the CEO of the L’Oréal Groupe, Nicolas Hieronimus. “The two consumer technologies we are unveiling this year at CES represent the true purpose of our company: to create the beauty that moves the world.”

Barbara Lavernos, Deputy CEO of Research, Innovation and Technology at L’Oréal, added that the company is “dedicated and passionate to bring new technologies” to the makeup industry, like its latest device.

“Inclusivity is at the heart of our innovation and beauty tech strategy,” Barbara said. “We are dedicated and passionate to bring new technologies powering beauty services that augment and reach every individual’s ultimate desires, expectations, and unmet needs.”

Back in June, L’Oreal offered a gig to Black transgender model Munroe Bergdorf, who they originally sacked in 2017 over her comments about “the racial violence of white people.”

In a now-deleted tweet, she said the brand “threw me to the wolves” when she was fired.

“I had to fend for myself being torn apart by the world’s press because YOU didn’t want to talk about racism. You do NOT get to do this. This is NOT okay, not even in the slightest,” Munroe wrote.
