Grammy Award-winning entertainer Lizzo recently played President James Madison’s 200-year-old crystal flute at her D.C. show.
According to The New York Times, Lizzo gave an epic performance with the coveted flute during the Washington D.C. leg of her “The Special Tour.” The concert went down at Capital One Arena on Sept. 27.
“It’s crystal. It’s like playing out of a wine glass b***h, so be patient,” the classically trained flutist told her audience that night. She then began twerking while playing a few notes.
“B***h, I just twerked and played James Madison’s flute from the 1800s,” she hilariously exclaimed. “We just made history tonight.”
Following her show, the buxom entertainer took to Twitter to thank the Library Of Congress for allowing her to play Madison’s flute.
“NOBODY HAS EVER HEARD THIS FAMOUS CRYSTAL FLUTE BEFORE NOW YOU HAVE IM THE FIRST & ONLY PERSON TO EVER PLAY THIS PRESIDENTIAL 200-YEAR-OLD CRYSTAL FLUTE— THANK YOU @librarycongress,” she tweeted.

Carla D. Hayden, the first African American and woman to lead the Library Of Congress, previously invited Lizzo to play the instrument during her latest concert.
“The @libraryofcongress has the largest flute collection in the world with more than 1,800. It incl Pres James Madison’s 1813 crystal flute,” Hayden tweeted on Sept. 23. “@lizzo, we would love for you to come see it and even play a couple when you are in D.C. next week. Like your song , they are ‘Good as hell.'”

The flute was reportedly made by French craftsman Parisian Claude Laurent and gifted to Madison, the fourth elected president of the United States, back in 1813. It was also allegedly saved by first lady Dolly Madison after British troops set the White House on fire in 1814.
The Texas native has received lots of praise, which she rightfully earned. Earlier in September, she won an Outstanding Reality/Competition Series Emmy for her Amazon series Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.
