LisaRaye And Da Brat’s Emotional Hug At Birthday Celebration

LisaRaye arrived at Da Brat’s 47th birthday celebration and offered her a long, emotional hug. It appears the sisters were seeing eye to eye again after their public squabble last fall.

This past week, Da Brat celebrated her birthday and brought out her celebrity friends to party with her. When LisaRaye showed up, Jermain Dupri recorded the rapper getting teary-eyed and saying, “This is too much for me.”

The two sisters then exchanged a tight hug.

In September 2020, Cocktails With Queens co-hosts Claudia Jordan, Syleena Johnson and Vivica A. Fox invited Da Brat onto the show, unbeknownst to LisaRaye, as a surprise for the Playa’s Club star’s 53rd birthday. What followed was an emotional and public spat between the two detailing why they fell out.

LisaRaye burst into tears when she saw her sister, and while the co-hosts thought they were tears of joy, it turns out that she was actually frustrated with the “So Funkadafied” emcee. After Jordan asked her if she was surprised by her older sister’s reaction, Da Brat said, “We kinda been a little bit distant…so I know she’s really surprised. We’ve had a little space in our relationship, or whatever.”

The rapper continued to say that she was going through things and also had a new “significant other,” which led to her not being upfront with her sister out of fear. She also claimed that she hadn’t seen her actress sibling in person since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

LisaRaye finally chimed in to say that she felt betrayed by hearing about Da Brat’s new girlfriend, Jesseca Dupart, through blogs instead of directly from her.

“I just didn’t want to hear it from the blogs and the interviews of people asking me questions, and I didn’t know what to say…because I didn’t hear it from you,” the actress expressed on the show. “And so I’m hurt. That’s what I am.”

The two continued to hash it out on Cocktails With Queens, proving that their communication was not where they wanted it to be at the time. But now, it looks like both Da Brat and LisaRaye have put their differences to the side and made up off-camera.

Won’t He do it?
