Lil Wayne Says He’s Looking For A Wife, Claims He’s ‘Getting Too Wealthy’

Lil’ Wayne appears to be looking for his very own Mrs. Carter.

On Saturday, the New Orleans rapper took to Twitter and revealed to his fans and followers that he wanted to get married because his successful career had afforded him a lot of money.

“I need a wife, man I’m getting too wealthy. Stfu,” Weezy tweeted.

The “A Milli” artist, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, was married previously to Toya Johnson, with whom he shares a daughter, Reginae Carter. The pair were married for two years before they divorced in 2006.

In 2020, Johnson opened up during an interview with Essence magazine about her relationship with Wayne.

“Wayne and I, we have a really good relationship,” she revealed. “It took us a minute to get to this point, but I’m happy that we are here. When my brothers passed, he jumped on a jet and came immediately. When things are going wrong with him, I’m always there because before anything—before the fame, money, anything—I’m his friend, and I’ve been in his life since we were like 13 years old.”

“That’s what people don’t understand. It’s bigger than us being together. I look at him like family,” she continued. “I’ll always have his back. I’ll always go to bat [for him] because I’m like a real loyal person. That’s just who I am and the way I was raised. That’s my daughter’s father, and that’s my friend. That’s just the relationship we have.”

Though there were rumors that the high school sweethearts would get back together, the businesswoman said at the time, “You never know what the future holds.”

The 39-year-old rapper was in a relationship with model Denise Bidot, 34, sparking marriage rumors between the former couple. However, the two split in 2021, Sis2Sis reported.

Lil Wayne addressed the breakup in a perplexing tweet, “I live the way I love and love the way I live. I’m a lover, not a lighter bekuz they burn out,” he wrote. “I am an eternal fire and burning love. Either leave with a tan, a 3rd degree burn, or stay and die in love. You’re sweating.

Sincerely, the fireman.”

Bidot reportedly broke up with Wayne after openly endorsing former President Donald Trump. But, according to sources close to the model, Wayne’s presidential endorsement wasn’t the only dealbreaker for her.

“She broke up with Wayne. It wasn’t just his Trump support, but that was a big part,” the insider told B. Scott. “[Denise] was shocked when she saw Wayne come out with Trump. She’s so disappointed in him.”

While searching for his soulmate, Wayne announced that his collaborative album with 2 Chainz is completed, and they plan to release the new project sometime this year.
