“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” Snoop said in a statement, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “It was the perfect marriage. It was a holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”

His collaboration with fellow rapper Dr. Dre on the song “Deep Cover” contributed to his success. He released albums like “Doggystyle” and “The Doggfather,” which climbed the charts and gained popularity with fans.

The California rapper then started going into acting, appearing in films like Starsky & HutchTraining Day and The Wash. He had a 2007 reality show on E! called Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood.”

The rapper earned himself an American Music Award and a Primetime Emmy award. Although he has received 17 Grammy nominations, he has never won one.

With his music and acting career, Snoop has ventured into the cannabis, technology, and food and beverages business.
