Jones was born in Arkabutla, Mississippi, in 1931. The veteran entertainer began his illustrious career as an actor in movies and television in 1948. His most prominent performances were in Coming To America, Conan The Barbarian, Dr. Strangelove, The Hunt For Red October, Claudine, The Lion King, Coming 2 America and Sesame Street.
The 92-year-old actor has almost 200 acting credits to his name. Jones has an honorary Oscar and a Primetime Emmy. He was nominated for countless other awards.
Jones was named a Disney Legend in 2019 for his renowned voiceover work.
