Rihanna can’t catch a break! Haters who watched
the Super Bowl LVII halftime show on Feb. 12 saw Rihanna’s performance as “pornographic” and ran to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to complain.Sis2Sis obtained copies of 103 complaints from all over the nation. Complainers found the Fenty founder’s lyrics and choreography too sexual, doing the most by comparing it to porn.
A Bountiful, Utah complainer wrote, “This year the halftime show was so indecent I had to turn off the TV because of the pornographic content. This is a disturbing trend that should be stopped, or the show should be marked TV 18 with a note that sexuality is prevalent.”
“The sexualization, genital grabbing, sniffing of her fingers, man pulling off his jacket and then (sic) girating all while singing lyrics far too inappropriate for a family sport event,” one complainer from Janesville, California, wrote. “I will NOT watch this again next year if this is how you are going to disrespect our nation.”
Then don’t.

A complainer from Lone Tree, Colorado, wrote, “The performance was very over sexualized and there were many instances where Rihanna had her background dancers doing very explicit dances. On top of all this 4 of the songs she chose to sing were about sex. This is supposed to be a family friendly show but we look at this and wish we were given a heads up for explicit content prior so we could get our child out of the room.”
“Was watching the Super Bowl with my family and grandkids. Was very embarrassed at the halftime show with the crotch grabbing, subjective sexual moves,” a person from Witsett, North Carolina, said. “Very disappointed that you would allow this to be shown [on] this big stage. America is better than this. No wonder we have so many sexual assaults looks like you guys promote it.”
The “Diamonds” singer hasn’t responded to the complaints.
Rihanna isn’t the first Super Bowl performer to have complaints filed against her. Over half a million Super Bowl viewers in 2004 filed complaints after the Janet Jackson incident where Justin Timberlake ripped open Jackson’s bustier, exposing her breast.
