“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now,” said Wachowski. “I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”

When Fishburne was asked by Collider why he wasn’t in the Matrix 4, he said that he doesn’t have the answer.
“I am not in the next Matrix movie, and you’d have to ask Lana Wachowski why, because I don’t have an answer for that.”
His interviewer, Steve Weintraub, said that he hoped Fishburne was lying to him because he really wanted to see him in the movie, prompting the actor to laugh.
We feel you, Steve!
The actor said that he was gifted his glasses and tie and from The Matrix movies, though. He also has his helmet from Predators and beret from Apocalypse Now.
The Academy Award-nominated actor also discussed his upcoming role in John Wick 4. The action film about assassins also stars Fishburne’s Matrix co-star Keanu Reeves.
“I read the script,” Fishburne said. “It’s really, really cool. As much as it’s the same world as the other three films, it’s just deeper. It’s much deeper in terms of the code of the assassin and the relationship that he has with one character in particular who I think Mr. Watanabe is playing…is really the heart and soul of it.”
John Wick 4 is being filmed in Berlin, Paris, Japan and New York. Fishburne said that he leaves for Berlin in a few months to begin filming.
Matrix 4 is expected to debut this December in theaters and on HBO Max.
