Gen Z Georgia rapper Latto recently gave away $250,000 in gifts to her hometown, received a key to the city and was honored with an official day.
According to VIBE, Latto, whose real name is Alyssa Michelle Stephens, hosted her second annual “Christmas In Clayco” event with her Win Some Give Some Foundation on Dec. 18.
That day, she reportedly donated 3000 gifts, free food, essential items for families in need, and other items while wearing a cute Santa Claus costume. She also provided entertainment to the event’s young attendees as she and her foundation turned the Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center into a holiday sanctuary.
“I owe a lot of my success to Clayton County, so it feels really good to be here. My old school Rex Mill (Middle School) is literally two minutes down the street, and (as) we were driving past it, I was like, ‘Oh my God. Everything is coming full circle.’ I’m so blessed and happy to share my blessing,” the RCA artist shared.

“Latto is the epitome of greatness here. Our kids love her, the commissioners love her, and this is a collaboration that has been great for the community and for the children in Clayton County Public Schools,” Clayton County’s District 1 commissioner, Aleika Anderson, said. “I want them to see the spirit of giving. When you give, it reciprocates back to you. What we tell our kids in Clayton County is that you can go and be anything you want to be, and Latto is a great example of that.”
The Georgia native has been making lots of noise for the past few years. She recently received her first Grammy nomination for the 2023 award show in July. That night she will be competing for Best New Artist and Best Melodic Rap Performance for the live rendition of “Big Energy” (2022).
