Kodak Black pled guilty to first-degree assault on Wednesday. According to the Associated Press, the rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was accused of assaulting an underage girl in 2016 and accepted a plea deal to avoid jail time.
Black was accused of assaulting the girl in South Carolina after he performed in Florence. The incident allegedly happened in a hotel room afterward. The girl claimed that Black pushed her against a wall before pushing her down on the bed. The girl accused him of allegedly “biting her on the neck and breast.”
TMZ reported that Black admitted to biting his accuser and apologized to her in court. A nurse called the authorities after the girl reported the incident at her high school.
Provided Black completes his 18-month probation sentence without incident; he will avoid a possible 10-year stint in prison. The rapper will not be allowed to drink alcohol, consume drugs, or possess firearms during his probation period. Dotard Trump infamously pardoned the Haitian rapper in January for a gun possession charge, and his 46-month sentence was commuted.
While the rapper apologized to the girl in court, he denied the assault accusation later and posted a comment on Twitter regarding the plea deal.
“I apologize this happened, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” Black said at the courthouse.

His lawyers Bradford Cohen (who once appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice”) and Beattie Ashmore said that the 23-year-old rapper agreed to the plea because it was a lesser charge, and he wanted to move on. The original charge was for a felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge.
Black has sold more than 30 million singles since 2014, including hits like “Zeze” and “Roll in Peace.”
