Christian “King” Combs, the son of Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs, reached no. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart with his single, “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.”
In a statement to Revolt, the 24-year-old revealed that hard work went into the song, and it paid off.
“Locking in my first No. 1 record is crazy,” King said. “A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into getting this record to where it is. We’re finally here, and we can’t stop!”
Featuring rapper Kodak Black, King united nostalgic ’90s hip-hop, sampling from Lil’ Kim and Lil’ Cease’s “Crush On You,” with today’s hip-hop style. According to an interview the 24-year-old did with People, he had always wanted to pursue music.
“It’s really always been something I wanted to do,” King said. “There have been times when my dad questioned me and asked, ‘What’s your plan B? Are you sure you want to do this?’ and I’m like, ‘There is no plan B.’”
Now with “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop at the top, there’s no doubt that King won’t be stopping his music journey any time soon.
“It’s definitely a dream coming true for me, and it’s a great feeling to have the fans and people out there gravitate to a song that I made in the studio,” he added.
Diddy celebrated the “monumental” moment with his son, King’s friends, and family. During the celebration, the Bad Boy gave a heartfelt speech while holding a congratulatory cake.

“This is a monumental, historic occasion,” Diddy said. “Because my son Christian…he put out one, two, three, four, maybe five records, but he didn’t stop. And when you don’t stop, and you say f**k that, and you go for what you know, and you did it for your mama, too. And you did it on your own, son. And we proud of you. Number 1!!!”
In the caption, Diddy wrote, “Words can’t describe how proud I am of my son @KingCombs!! He put that work in!! They made him work harder, and he worked harder!! Congratulations, I’m proud of you, son!! I love you!!! #1 song on Urban Radio!! #CantStopWontStop @kodakblack.”
