Rapper Khia threw mad shade at artist Saweetie for her 2017 track “ICY GRL” for sampling the 45-year-old rapper’s hit song “My Neck, My Back.”
In an interview with Jamari Bailey over the weekend, Khia said that out of all the artists who have sampled her song since 2002, she “doesn’t like” Saweetie’s.
The southern femcee, born Khia Shamone Finch, admitted that she wishes Saweetie had left “My Neck, My Back” alone. When asked about her opinion on the songs that used her most infamous track, she said, “Least favorite would be Saweetie … I don’t like her. I didn’t think she did it any justice.”
In the clip, Khia continued to make fun of her name by calling her “Sweet Pea.”
“I didn’t even like green sweet peas when I was young,” she said. “You like green peas? Do you know how green peas taste?” On the opposite end of things, Khia cited “Pop It” and “F*** That N*****” by YG and City Girls, respectively, as okay iterations of it. However, “Nobody has gave it justice yet,” she said.
Saweetie’s 2017 song “Icy Girl” was promoted as initially a freestyle over “My Neck, My Back” and was later released as her debut the following year on her EP “High Maintenance.” It’s often regarded by her fans as one of her best songs, despite Khia’s opinion.
