In a surprising turn of events, comedian and actor Kevin Hart has been crowned the “Entertainment Person of the Year” at Cannes Lions 2023.
The renowned award recognizes the “significant role that entertainment plays in the marketing and communications industry, celebrating individuals who inspire others to create compelling and meaningful content.” Hart’s remarkable achievement reflects his exceptional contributions to the entertainment and advertising space.
Hart, 43, also the founder and chairman of Hartbeat, a global media company, expressed his gratitude for receiving the prestigious award.

The grand unveiling of the award will happen at the Cannes Lions Awards Show on June 20th, during the Entertainment Person of The Year seminar. This significant event will serve as Hart’s first-ever appearance on the renowned Cannes Lions stage.
In Miami last year, Hart discussed his career and embracing new ideas at Brandweek.
“I broke new ground by not being afraid of putting my own ass on the line and, if it’s bad, then I’m the one who has to deal with that burden. I wasn’t afraid to take risks and try something new. Embrace this new generation and the world of culture and how they move. If you do not, you will get left behind,’ he explained to Adweek.
