Singer Kelly Price revealed that her sister tried to have her placed under a conservatorship in an attempt to steal her money. The singer said while she suffered from COVID-19, she almost got “Britney Speared.”
Price made the statement while Luenell was interviewing her. She said that while she was extremely sick during her battle with COVID-19, she found out from her great aunt that her sister had money concerns.
“I almost got ‘Britney Speared,'” said Price. “There was a conservatorship in play by a specific family member and some of the family did fall out about it… I had a great aunt who actually did have something to say to my sister about that, and said, ‘Why would you do that?'” said the singer.
She went on to say that her sister was worried that Price’s husband would get her money if she died. Her sister believed that there was no prenuptial agreement between Price and her husband, and she couldn’t stand the thought of him getting all of Price’s money.
“If she dies, he gets it all,” her sister reportedly said.
Price confirmed that her husband also got very sick while taking care of her and noted that she had to be resuscitated in the hospital. She also confirmed that her sister was the one who reported her missing. She made light of the experience and joked that she was so ill, “My wig had COVID.”
The singer noted that she does not have a prenuptial agreement with her husband, but they do have an arrangement in the event of a divorce.
Of her sister’s attempt to place her under a conservatorship, she said,
“It is what it is.”
