After four years of dating, actors Keith Powers, 29, and Ryan Destiny, 27, have reportedly broken up.

“They’re taking time to focus on themselves and their emerging careers but are remaining close friends,” a source told PEOPLE.

Their split was a surprise to many, especially since Destiny never deleted the photos of her and Powers off her Instagram page. She also turned off the comment section underneath the images.

Powers was spotted having a blast in a clip of Destiny’s birthday party on TikTok. He popped up multiple times, either dancing with a glass of wine in his hand or just staring into the camera.

In a cover story for We The Urban in 2019, Powers and Destiny confirmed that they met at a Teen Vogue party in 2015. The two candidly spoke to the magazine about their relationship and how they fell in love.

“I had shamefully liked Keith since we met…We were just friends for a minute. So when we let things naturally happen, if you let it, love falls in naturally too,” said Destiny. “There have been many moments in our relationship that made my heart feel heavy. In a good way and sometimes not so good way. In those moments, whatever they may be… the way I would think and feel wouldn’t feel surface anymore.”

Powers told an equally sweet explanation of their love to the magazine.

“I realized I was in love when I knew my life would be extremely affected in a negative way if Ryan wasn’t in it. Loving someone is a very natural feeling that just happens. You can’t just wake up and SAY I love this person, you FEEL it,” Powers said. “You realize like wow, this person is a piece of me and regardless you don’t ever want that person out of your life. I also felt myself growing as a person when Ryan came into my life, especially mentally.”

The former couple shared the spotlight in a gorgeous Calvin Klein ad for the “Eternity” fragrance in 2020.

They also appeared in Big Sean’s music video for “Single Again” together that year.

Neither has commented about their separation to the public.
