Over the weekend, veteran funnyman Katt Williams took the stage at a Louisville, Kentucky venue but ultimately made the call to stop the show after a fan lost consciousness in the crowd, TMZ reported. Bringing up the tragic Astroworld concert incident that occurred in Houston on Friday night, the 50-year-old comedian made it clear that he was “not goin’ to be leaving with that on my conscious.”

Williams stopped his Saturday performance and took a small break after hearing that a fan had passed out in the crowd. After paramedics came to the person’s aid, the Friday After Next star then chose to share his thoughts with the crowd about why he chose to pause his comedy set.

“I’m sorry if I won’t move on, but that Astroworld sh*t, I mean we can’t never continue till we know somebody motherf***ing good,” he told the audience. “I’m not goin’ to be leaving with that on my [conscience]…Just take five minutes.”

After the fan was transported out of the venue, Williams

added, “We made the right decision,” before continuing with the comedy show.

According to CNN, the night prior, Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival concert shockingly turned deadly when the massive crowd was pushed towards a nearby stage, causing many fans to be crushed and trampled. The Houston show featured an audience of 50,000 people, with at least eight fans losing their lives that night and many more left injured in the chaos.

Many criticized the Houston-native for not doing enough to stop the show, though it isn’t known whether Travis Scott knew about the tragedy while on-stage. CNN reported that the “Sicko Mode” rapper reportedly

began his performance at around 9 pm that night and didn’t wrap up until around 10:10 pm. Officials began receiving reports about injuries in the crowd at around 9:30 pm.

The Houston Police Department is reportedly conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
