Karen Civil Claims Drake and Kanye West Have Squashed Their Beef Ahead of DONDA Release

Industry insider Karen Civil claims Kanye West and Drake have squashed their beef ahead of their album releases.

Civil dropped the tea on Tuesday after a fan suggested Drake drop his upcoming project, “Certified Lover Boy,” on the day West’s album DONDA is released.

“Drake should be petty and drop CLB on Friday,” wrote one user.

“I’d put money on it he does,” another person replied.

The possibility of competing albums was squashed when Civil claimed Yeezy and Drake are on good terms.

“They friends now…he not. Lol,” the journalist wrote.

She didn’t provide any additional details about their truce. The feud started a few years ago after Drake was attacked by Pusha T, who is signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. Pusha T is the reason the world knows about Drake’s son, Adonis.

The “Take Care” artist previously said he wasn’t interested in a relationship with West.

“Things have changed. I’m not just some kid that’s a fan anymore. Now we have personal situations, and like I said, a lot of his issues with me, I can’t fix them for him,” he said during an interview with Rap Radar in December 2019.

When the interviewer asked about a possible resolution, he shut it down.

“No, not really because it’s just not on my end. I have no problem with any of these guys. I don’t even know these guys like that,” Drake said.

Neither rapper has addressed Civil’s comments. West is gearing up to release DONDA on Friday at midnight. One of the album’s tracks, “No Child Left Behind,” was used in a recent Beats By Dre commercial starring track star Sha’Carri Richardson.

The album, which is named after his late mother Donda West, will be unveiled during a listening event in Atlanta, reported the Associated Press. The event will be live-streamed via Apple Music on Thursday night.

According to Rap-Up, Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” doesn’t have a release date, but he recently said

the album is being mixed.

“You know, Uncle Drake is back home to mix the album, so she’s got a bunch of new tracks coming her way,” he said. “On my way home to reunite with my dawg and finish this thing up… CLB on the way. On your head top.”

In the meantime, Drake collaborated with Nike to produce a CLB Air Force 1 sneaker. The changes to the classic AF1 include the quote “Love you forever,” which is printed on the heel and the hearts adorning the front of the shoe.
