Grammy Award-winning rapper and entrepreneur, and fashion designer Kanye West ranted about headlines regarding his children with ex-wife, TV personality and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian in rapper Cardi B’s latest song, “Hot Sh*t.”
In the song, which features himself and Chicago rapper Lil Durk, Kanye called out the media for constantly publishing headlines about his three children, Psalm, 3, Saint, 6, and North, 9.
“Hot Sh*t was released on July 1, following Cardi’s promo video that debuted at the 2022 BET Awards.
“Another headline, ‘Where your head at? ‘N***a, go home. Where your kids at? They be on my nerve, they be on my nerve,” he rapped in the track.
In another line, he revealed his feelings about his divorce from Kim. She officially filed for divorce from the DONDA rapper in February after news broke that the two would be separating a month previously. The pair wed in 2014 following their three-year relationship, which began in 2011.
Since then, they have been embroiled in a public feud that allegedly stemmed from Kim allowing North to have a TikTok account without his permission. Kanye also threatened her now boyfriend, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, and called him out on multiple occasions, including in a track called “Eazy” featuring L.A. rapper The Game.
Months later, in June, Ye was reportedly “heartbroken” over finding out that his children had been bonding with Pete.
“[It’s not something] Kanye was prepared for or even thinking about when he and Kim split,” a source close to him said. “For Pete and the kids to get so close, so fast, is deeply unsettling for Kanye. It’s really difficult seeing photos of them together everywhere he goes, and he just wishes things were different.”
Despite the drama, the 45-year-old has been very busy working on his business empire, as he recently filed 17 trademark applications for Yeezus-brand goods and services. He also launched the sports agency DONDA Sports in May.
