Kandi Burrussâ mother, Joyce Jones, recently said her daughter should find a man on the âsame financial scale.â
During BravoCon 2022, Joyce made it her duty to throw shade at Kandi Burrussâ husband, Todd Tucker, saying her daughter shouldâve found someone on her financial level.
âIf I could have replaced Todd, I probably wouldâve picked anyone that had a decent job. Somebody that was maybe in the same business, in the financial realm that she was in,â the Old Lady Gang founder told a fan who asked if she wouldâve set Kandi up with someone else. âI just think that she shouldâve married someone that was on the same financial scale.â
The Grammy award-winning singer has been married to Todd since 2014 and shares two children with him: Blaze Tucker (2) and Ace Wells Tucker (6). The two reportedly met while Kandi was filming RHOA Season 2 and raising her then-six-year-old daughter, Riley. She was also engaged to Ashley âAJâ Jewell in 2009, but the couple called off the wedding. In October that year, AJ tragically died after sustaining head injuries from a fight outside Atlanta Club, The Body Tap.
Joyce has voiced her opinion on Kandiâs marriage to Todd for quite some time, which can be seen in countless RHOA episodes. She was even hilariously asked to say three nice things about him during Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen at BravoCon.
âUhh, Heâs still short,â she said onstage before Kandi interjected, saying, âSay nice things, mama.â
Her mom continued, saying, âHe shaved [some of his] beard, and heâs very nice to his kids.â
However, Kandi felt Joyce couldâve said something else.
âShe [couldâve done] better with the first two,â Kandi said.
âOh! And him and I are getting along much better,â Joyce added.
