Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have been called out for charging customers for ice at their Atlanta restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood. A customer posted a copy of his receipt addressing the matter on social media.
The customer’s name is Ryan Williams, an Atlanta attorney. Williams was not happy to see that he’d been charged $4 extra for having his Hennessy on the rocks and posted a picture of his receipt after dining at Blaze.
The receipt clearly shows that Williams was charged $30 for two Hennessys and an additional $4 for “Rocks,” which is restaurant lingo for ice. Williams was also charged $8 for a Red Bull. The lawyer advised Tucker and Burruss to stop overcharging, noting it was the second time this has happened to him at one of the couple’s establishments.
Williams wrote with the post that he prided himself on visiting Black-owned establishments and allowed himself a monthly budget solely for that purpose. However, he was not impressed with the upcharges at Blaze.
“Y’all have lost your rabbit ass minds with this overcharging,” he wrote. “FIX THIS GHETTO ASS S**T!”

Apparently, Burruss saw the complaint and called Williams to apologize. She quickly remedied the situation and is making sure that it does not happen again. Williams again posted about the restaurant on social media, but this time, he was pleased.
“all is right in the world now,” he wrote. “As an attorney and consumer my only goal in making the post was to make sure that the issue was corrected. Thanks @kandi for stepping in and doing what is right.”

Williams added that Burruss had removed the rocks upcharge from the POS system and thanked her for making things right. He also commended her for accepting constructive criticism and “correcting the issue.”
