Judge Ruled That Tasha K Must Either Pay Cardi B The $4 Million Or Secure Bond

It looks like blogger and YouTuber Tasha K can’t get out of paying rapper Cardi B the $4 million she owes after losing the defamation trial.

On Thursday, Judge William Ray decided that Tasha K must pay the “Bodak Yellow” rapper the total amount or secure funding to cover it all—about $3.8 million. The ruling came after the blogger, real name LaTasha Kebe, chose to go through the appeal process to prolong having to pay the total amount.

Cardi B filed a lawsuit against Tasha K in 2019 after she brought forth allegations about the rapper, stating she was a prostitute and had herpes, among other stuff.

Tasha K’s initial appeal request was declined. The second appeal required the vlogger to pay the surety bond. If Tasha K loses the appeal, the bond will go toward the funding she owes Cardi B. According to Surety Bonds Direct, a “surety bond (pronounced “shur-ih-tee bond”) can be defined in its simplest form as a written agreement to guarantee compliance, payment, or performance of an act. ‘Surety’ is a unique type of insurance because it involves a three-party agreement.”

It would only work out in Tasha K’s favor if she wins the appeal, which would pardon her from the judgment.

Per a Sis2Sis report, the UnWineWithTashaK host only had $1,083 in her bank account. She addressed the deficit in her Chase account, said that the $1,083 was true, and gave the last bit of it to a contest winner before Cardi B’s legal representatives took it.

Cardi B’s lawyers became worried after Tasha K publicly announced that she moved out of the country to Africa. They and social media users felt the move to Africa gave the host the delay she wanted to avoid paying the total amount.

“This is more than a hypothetical concern in this case,” attorney Lisa F. Moore and Cardi’s other lawyers said, according to Billboard. “During the litigation, Kebe bragged publicly that she had taken steps to insulate herself from a judgment. And there have been recent online reports that Kebe has moved from Georgia to avoid enforcement of the judgment.”
