A New York judge Lamar Odom owes baby mama Liza Morales almost $400,000 in unpaid child support legal fees.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper signed the ruling on July 20, but it wasn’t publicized until Thursday, reported Page Six. The judge granted Morales’ request for a default judgment against Odom since he didn’t show up to court.
Odom and Morales dated in the early 2000s and have two children together: 23-year-old Destiny and 19-year-old Lamar, Jr.
In May, Morales sued the former NBA star claiming that he had not paid child support since June 2020. The Basketball Wives cast member also alleged that Odom has consistently violated their custody agreement, established in 2015.
The custody agreement stated Odom must pay $6000 per month for the kids, in addition to rent for Morales’ Manhattan apartment and college expenses.
“In June 2020, Lamar stopped providing any support save for sporadic amounts sent directly to LJ, placing their son in a very difficult situation,” the court documents stated.
Under Cooper’s ruling, the former Laker must cough up $380,549. TMZ reports the bill includes $91,220 in back child support, $88,117 for missed rent and $161,305 to put their kids through college. Odom is also required to pay for Morales’ legal fees, which cost about $40,000.
Odom is also expected to pay for a $1 million life insurance policy, or Morales “may enter a judgment against Lamar Odom for an additional $1,000,000.”
Yikes.
He will secure a bag soon because he’s due to fight retired heavyweight boxing champ Riddick Bowe in a couple of months, Celebrity Boxing founder Damon Feldman confirmed to TMZ Sports. The fight will go down on October 2 in Miami’s James L. Knight Arena. This will be Bowe’s first fight since 2008.
Pop star Aaron Carter, who fought Odom in June, is also scheduled to make an appearance.
