Joycelyn Savage Welcomes Her And R. Kelly’s First Child, Meet Ava Lee Kelly

Joycelyn Savage gave birth to her and R. Kelly’s first child.

According to an Instagram post, the baby was born on Dec. 8, 2022, and she named the baby girl Ava Lee Kelly.

Savage dedicated an Instagram post to her daughter, promising protection against a “cold” world.

“My baby girl Ava when you were born, my whole world shined so bright,” Savage wrote in the post’s caption. “I knew that it was no longer about me anymore it was about us. Though the world is cold, I promise to always protect you. I am so happy to be your mother & you bring me so much joy. 12.08.22.”

In August, Savage revealed in her “tell-all” book, “Love and Joy of Robert,” that she was pregnant, which R. Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, claimed wasn’t true.

“There is no truth to reports that Joy is releasing a tell-all memoir and she is certainly not pregnant with R Kelly’s child,” Bonjean wrote in a deleted Tweet. “People are just insane. Carry on.”

Savage revealed that she discovered she was pregnant after Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison for eight counts of sex trafficking and racketeering. She also said that he sent her an engagement ring after being charged.

Before he was sent to prison, the two attempted to get pregnant through in-vitro fertilization (IVF), according to the memoir. Savage said Bonjean wasn’t made aware of their pregnancy attempts, but when she caught wind, the lawyer told her to get an abortion.

“She didn’t feel that now was the time for me to have a child following the 30-year sentence,” Savage wrote. “Me and Robert wanted to have a child for a long time. He is very happy about it, his lawyer isn’t. Once I told her I was keeping my baby, she didn’t want me to announce, but I wanted to share the news. I’ve always been there for him, even before his new lawyer came into the picture.”

Since the allegations against Kelly surfaced, Savage has stood by her disgraced man, leaving her concerned family behind.

In July, Savage revealed in a letter to Judge Ann Donnelly, who handed Kelly his 30-year sentence, that she and the R&B singer were engaged
