Joy Behar Gathers Meghan McCain on ‘The View’

Comedian Joy Behar gathered her ill-mannered co-host Meghan McCain on The View on Tuesday. The women argued on air after McCain became hysterical when Behar joked about calling the Republican Party the QAnon party.

The ladies were discussing the sex trafficking allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla) and the news that his associate, Joel Greenberg, has pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking in exchange for leniency. Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing. The View wondered if Greenberg would turn on Gaetz.

Behar criticized Republican leadership for not speaking out against the congressman and his alleged trafficking of a 17-year-old girl.

“If it’s not the Republican Party,” Behar said, “Shall I call it the QAnon party? What shall I call your party now? Who defends people like Matt Gaetz and goes against Liz Cheney? What are we supposed to call it?”

McCain then went on a rant about how she knows many conservatives who work on Capital Hill who are embarrassed by Gaetz. She then said conservatives don’t care what Behar says.

“I think you can call it whatever you want because your influence in the Republican Party is almost zero,” snapped McCain. “Again, as I’ve said on this show, it is for us to figure out amongst ourselves. What republican is like, ‘Ooo, Joy Behar doesn’t like my party? Oh God, I better stop voting for them now,’” she cried. “I mean really, the same way I have no influence on the left.”

Behar responded that McCain often gives her opinion on the show about what Democrats needed to do. When Behar asked why the GOP doesn’t get rid of Gaetz if they are so embarrassed by him, McCain claimed that they couldn’t because he hadn’t been arrested or convicted of a crime. Behar noted that Liz Cheney hadn’t been arrested for any crime yet was dismissed from her position as conference chair simply for denouncing Dotard Trump.

Then McCain became incensed as Whoopi Goldberg went to a commercial.

“You saying that the Republican party is trash, I don’t care. It’s not revelatory,” she screamed. “Who cares, you say it every single day. Every single day, you hate Republicans. Oh my God, how revelatory!”

Incidentally, McCain had no problem with Democrats forcing Sen. Al Franken to resign after some silly albeit inappropriate photos of the former SNL comedian pretending to touch a sleeping woman’s breasts (who was wearing a bullet-proof vest under army gear) while posing for a goofy picture on a comedy tour. But, Rep. Matt Gaetz apparently needs to be arrested and convicted of sex trafficking before the Republican Party can denounce him.

Twitter had a lot to say about McCain’s hissy fit. One user noted McCain’s petchalent behavior as others commented on her convincing Marjorie Taylor Greene impression and lack of manners.

Perhaps McCain’s real problem is that she can’t reconcile the fact that she is a member of a party that provides safe harbor to the Ku Klux Klan, racists, seditionists, treasonous presidents and sex trafficking congressmen.
