Sports journalist Jemele Hill slammed Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy after he joined the off-key Twitter troll choir in harassing LSU womenâs basketball player Angel Reese.
Portnoy thought he was doing something when he called Reese a âclassless piece of s**tâ in a quote tweet.Â

The tweet didnât sit right with Hill, leading her to quote tweet him, writing, âSo Iâm going to pick this fight. F**k you.â

Hill wasnât the only one pissed off about Portnoyâs tweet. Legendary NBA player Shaquille OâNeal took to the Barstool Sports founderâs comments section, saying, âand so is your mother.â

Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay weighed in, writing, âNaw, thatâs you.â

Portnoy is the same racist man who founded a misogynistic and bigoted blog catered to white men. He has proudly used the N-word numerous times and was accused by women of sexual assault and being âreally aggressive.â

He also wrote on Barstool Sportsâ site, âI never condone rape, but if youâre a size six and youâre wearing skinny jeans, you kind of deserve to be raped.â
He stood by his words, claiming it was a âfunny joke.â
Yet, he dares to call Reese âclasslessâ when he has a record for doing and saying the most classless things.
According to News Onyx, the social media attack on Reese started after videos captured the LSU womenâs basketball forward making the âyou canât seeâ John Cena gesture at Iowa Hawkeyesâ Caitlin Clark during the end of the Sundayâs March Madness Tournament game.
Commenters called Reese âclasslessâ and âghettoâ for her actions yet seemed to overlook that Clark did the same thing days before Reese did. March 26, at the Hawkeyes vs. Louisville Cardinals game, Clark made the same Cena gesture, but her fans applauded her and called it âswag.â
Sports commentators like Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe both called the situation for what it was, a double standard.Â
âHereâs the reality of the situation, [Clark] instigated this kind of stuff,â Smith said. âLetâs call it what it is. She was waving, she was doing the Cena…she didnât mind being disrespectful, so why is it that weâre hesitant to bring that up?â
Despite the hate, Reese stands by her actions and is unapologetic about it.
â…when other people do it, yâall donât say nothing. So this is for the girls that look like me⊠thatâs going to speak up on what they believe in. Itâs unapologetically you and thatâs what I did it for tonight,â she said at a press conference.
“I’m too hood, I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it, y’all don’t say nothing. So this is for the girls that look like me.”
