Jay-Z Sends Love To Seniors With Roses After TikTok Tribute To Rihanna

Jay-Z sent red roses to the seniors at Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, after they posted a TikTok video recreating Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show performance.

The seniors at Arcadia Senior Living, who range in age from 80 to 92, have been dealing with the challenges of isolation during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, they didn’t let that stop them from showing off their dance moves on TikTok, with many residents citing the experience as a source of joy and excitement during a difficult time.

The TikTok vid went viral.  The video was shared on the senior living facility’s TikTok account and quickly went viral, garnering over 30 million views, 3.5 million likes, and 34,000 comments.

The seniors’ rendition of Rihanna’s hit song “Rude Boy” was so impressive that it even caught the attention of the official NFL TikTok account, which left a comment calling it “Amazing.”

It even caught the attention of Jay-Z, who sent the seniors a bouquet of red roses to show his appreciation for their performance.

Jay-Z’s gesture of kindness delighted the seniors, with the facility sharing pictures of the bouquet and a note from Roc Nation that read, “We love the TikTok here at Roc Nation!”

The facility’s director of community relations confirmed that Jay-Z sent them “100 red roses.”

Dora Martin, 87, who played Rihanna in the viral clip, expressed her joy at being able to keep up with the younger generation, saying that it made her feel like she was 16 again.

“It makes you younger to know that you can keep up with them,” she said. “It keeps you young. I feel like I’m 16 years old.”

On March 4, the senior living facility shared that Rihanna had also sent her own gesture of appreciation in the form of a bunch of white roses. The note that came with the flowers read, “You ladies’ dance was amazing, love Roc Nation.”
